North Sydney Referees' Final Training Session Before Grand Finals at Mark Taylor Oval

After a long season of hard work, development and plenty of kilometres across the district, the road to Grand Final Day has arrived.

Our referees found out their appointments at Monday night’s General Meeting, with the announcement marking a special moment for everyone involved. With only five Grand Finals available this year, earning an appointment is a significant achievement and a reflection of the season each official has put together.

For those selected to take charge of the biggest games of the year, Grand Final Day represents more than just another appointment. It’s an opportunity to put everything they’ve worked towards into practice on the biggest stage.

What does it mean to our Grand Final officials?

'It's an honour to receive the top Grand Final Centre this year (U16 Boys). All the hard work through out the year has paid off to receive this presitigous appointment" - Tyler Armstrong

"Refereeing an International Laws Grand Final is a huge personal achievement, representing five years of progression and dedication. This season saw significant growth through the Development Squad, with debuts across U15–U19 and over 110 appointments. Reaching the 200th, 250th and 300th game milestones before earning an U14 Grand Final appointment makes this a particularly memorable season." - Bryce Skarott

"It highlights how much I have improved over the season to acheive such an incredible appointment." - Harrison Brownlow

As we head into Grand Final Day, we congratulate every official who has been selected and recognise the work of all our members throughout the 2026 season.

The stage is set. Grand Final Day awaits. 🏆💛
