Roy Merrick's A-Grade Debut

Saturday was a proud moment for referee Roy Merrick, who officiated his first A Grade match at Greenway Park in the clash between the Pennant Hills Stags and Harbord Devils.

In 2024 alone, Roy has debuted in U17, U18, U19, and Open Women’s competitions – showcasing his rapid rise through the district’s refereeing ranks. Known for his composure, clear communication, and strong game knowledge, he handled his A Grade debut with confidence and professionalism.

North Sydney Referees Chairman Michael Quailey said:

“To see a young referee move through the grades to reach A Grade is particularly pleasing. It reflects well on all of us but it shines a light on the individual. Roy’s achievement reflects his dedication and commitment with many hours on the field on Game Days and at training, listening to and acting on advice.
